Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

• Account info: name, email address, password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text), and ZIP code
• Business info: business name, address, category, and phone number, for business accounts
• Approximate location: we convert your ZIP code into the approximate center point of that ZIP code so we can show you deals within about 15 miles. We never request, access, or collect your device's precise location.
• Deal content: the titles, descriptions, prices, and categories that business accounts write when they post a deal
• Reports and blocks: if you report a deal, we collect the reason and any details you write, along with which deal and business it concerns. If you block a business, we record that so we can hide their deals and alerts from you.
• Device push token: if you enable notifications, so we can deliver deal alerts to your device
• Usage data: deals you view, follow, or claim, and your notification preferences

2. How we use it

We use this information to match you with deals near your ZIP code, deliver the notifications you've opted into, let you redeem deals via claim codes, and generally operate and improve the Service.

Business profiles are public within the app: the business name, address, category, follower count, and any deals posted are visible to other FlyerBuzz users so customers can find and follow local businesses. Customer accounts are never shown publicly, and we never sell your information or share it with advertisers or data brokers.

3. Third-party services

We use Expo/EAS and Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications, Resend to send account emails such as your verification code (Resend receives your email address for this purpose), and standard cloud hosting infrastructure to run our backend and database. These providers process data only as needed to provide the Service, and none of them are advertising networks or data brokers.

4. Data retention & deletion

You can permanently delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account. This immediately and permanently removes your account, follows, claims, notifications, device registration, and the reports and blocks tied to your account. There's no waiting period and no way for us to recover it afterward.

If you no longer have the app installed, email support@flyerbuzz.app from the address on your account and request deletion — we'll remove your account and the same data listed above.

5. Children's privacy

FlyerBuzz is intended for users 18 and older. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we've collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it.

6. Your rights

You can review and correct your account information at any time in Profile settings, and delete your account and all associated data whenever you choose.

7. Security

Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing (bcrypt) and are never stored or transmitted in plain text. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

8. This website

flyerbuzz.app does not use tracking or advertising cookies.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date.
